why dont you make an rpg? time travel? get rid of a lot of the errors of recent rpg's. ie. random battles. 2D rpg's are the best. Make it so you can see your enemys? There are hardly any proper online rpg's, so you wouldn't have much competetion. |

Sounds like a good idea. But I have no idea about how good rpg's work, so it would be a bit hard .
And, I'm sure there are a lot of rpg's around on the internet, made with stuff like "RPG Maker", and I'm sure some of them are great. _________________

you know what? we should make an rpg. that's a great idea.
and if we do it well enough, it could be as big as something like pokemon, or the zelda games! wouldn't that be amazing if that happened?
i don't have any ideas. maybe an rpg version of dota...i dunno. _________________ puzzle designer. moderator.

That would be good, but i don't think we should try and force out an idea for an RPG, because that will lead to an unorigional and uncreative game. We can have periods where we try and find ideas for games, and if we all think it is a really good idea, then we can go for it.
That is one of the reasons dota isn't a really origional creative crazy idea (like grim fandango or monkey island), because I wanted to make an adventure game so i was trying to force think of any good story. _________________

Answered your questions .
If we could find a really creative person who could do character names, game ideas and stuff that would be great... _________________

that's a good idea. I think it would work well merging the different types of gameplay. _________________

Idears are allready forming in my mind... but i dont think we should stray from what is the base of the company, namely adventure games.
Sure U could do a cross between adventure and rpg, which for me is real rpg,.. all the rpg we are seeing at the moment has to much focus on combat. The pen and paper roleplay i have played in my youth had much more focus on the good story and character interaction and less on combat, there are other ways to earn xp than chopping of limbs. Some publishers have the right direction, like toika the developer of the great Vampire: Bloodlines, they unfortunately closed down for buissness.
But for starters we should, in my humble opion, stay with developing adventure games.
See you all later. We got alot of ground to cover yet, so lets get back to buissness. |

Umm, guys. Instead of making DOTA an RPG, or making DOTA anything other than what it is (a point and click adventure!), why don't you make it first. Release it. See the response from the geek community. Then make an RPG or w/eva. _________________ aiii |

I believe i speak for the whole team when i say, that no work will be done on the next game, whatever it may be, untill we are very close to a gold version of Dota. |
