My latest map I'm working on is a big de_ map in the theme of Springfield from The Simpsons. This is still a pretty early beta, but right now I'm looking for ideas on how to improve gameplay, visual effect, and looking for any bugs.

So, please tell me what you think of the map, any ideas you have to improve it, and inform me of any bugs you find. The two I know of at the moment are that the comic book guy's store is twice the size it should be, and bots can see through the fences around the Simpsons' and Flanders' house. Any others you find please let me know. Oh yeah, and I did have a custom skybox which can be seen in the screenshot, but it started having problems so i removed it for now.

Have fun. To install simply unzip the archive into

C:/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/your@email.com/Counter-Strike Source

And then everything should go into the correct folders. Then just create a server and test it with some bots.

The map looks really good and feels like the real thing. It's like you're actually running around in Springfield! I especially like Moe's, it looks like the real deal

its a v gd map but i thought some parts were rather bland especially the grassy areas but i guess its hard to make objects that are cartoony though so maybe jus put more billboards etc. also have 2d images of say like the flanders looking out of the windows looking scared or something like that Razz

Ok, now I'm on holiday I'm going to finish this map! If you have any suggestions at all please post them here. I'm thinking perhaps I should put more random objects like crates around the streets, becuase at the moment the combat is usually long range (especially around the comic book guy's store), which isn't as fun.

And Steve, do you think you'd be able to make some simple models for this? Smile

First of ll, nice map, i really like the sewers system thats a good touch. Maybe a few more crates and such would be good or litter lying on the ground to make it look more like your in the cartoon. i tried to get everywhere and the only glitch i found was that where the terrorists start out there is a hedge running between the flanders and the simposons walls, there are invisible barriers to stop you from getting into the back gardens but u can jump off the hedge and gt onto the roof, that is probably a good thing because you can snipe and stuff, though it could get people swpan camping. but when your on the roof u can jump into the simpsons and flanders back garbdens but u cant get out because of the invisible barriers, this could be a problem but its not a big thing.

oh and also it maybe a good idea to add more open spaces, e.g the statue square or a small park just so the combat type isnt always the same and to make the map seem more open instead of just streets
