this week on the countdown- i'm going to start using smilies to represent the movement instead of arrows...and we'll see if jojo can still cling to the number one spot. and, i'm also instuting a new rule-something can't be the plunge of the week or leap of the week unless it moves more than two spots (and it's got the most movement).

8--10. britney spears-everytime
well, this could very well be the last time we see britney on the countdown. making up for zero movement last week, this week, britney falls down two spots to number ten.
9--9. nina sky-move ya body
"move ya body" stays at number nine this week...because i want it to. i told it to stay. good "move ya body". here's a doggie biscuit. will you stay next week? or will you move up? or even down? who knows?
7--8. black eyed peas-let's get it started
due to a debut from avril lavigne, black eyed peas gets knocked back a spot in only their second week on the countdown. could getting to number one prove to be a struggle for this song?
6--7. beyonce-naughty girl
whoops! beyonce slips on a banana peel (?) and falls down on her tooshie. sadly, she breaks her tailbone and that damage puts her down to number seven. could poor beyonce keep slipping down, or will she make a comeback? find out next week.
---6. avril lavigne-my happy ending
here's a debut from avril. 7 weeks ago, "don't tell me" fell off the chart, after a short run. will "my happy ending" do better in weeks to come?
4--5. joss stone-super duper love
sadly, joss slips down a bit as well as (so it seems) everyone else on the chart. hopefully, for joss, "super duper love" can pick itself back up, and maybe "love" really can conquer all!
3--4. evanescence-tourniquet
in evanescence's third week on the chart, they wind up right back where they started, at number four. maybe next week, they can pop their heads back into the top three...
5--3. mis-teeq-scandalous
hooray for mis-teeq! they jump into the top three. plus, they're the group that moves up the most on the countdown this week. sadly, though, b/c of my new rule, they're not the leap of the week. but good for them!
1--2. jojo-leave
well, unfortunately for jojo, she's lost the power to hog up the top spot for a fourth week in a row. but don't think she's going off the chart soon...or will she?

and, since jojo's booty got bumped out of the number one spot...that means that this is the new number one song:
2--1. christina milian-dip it low
whoopee! christina hits number one in her third week on the chart. way to go! but, can her smooth moves ward off both jojo and mis-teeq next week? only one way to find out! read my list next week to find out.

4-\/-7. evanescence-tourniquet
things aren't looking to good for evanescence...in its four week run on the countdown, it popped into the top 3 in its second week, but the top 3 kicked it in the patoot, and boy did it hurt, b/c evanescence falls down three whole spots today from 4 to 7.
9-/\-6. nina sky-move ya body (leap of the week)
"are you feelin' it now?" is one of the lines in the song...and i have to say that yes, i am. "move ya body" was at number ten, then number nine, and it looked to be that it would slowly creep up the countdown and then just fall off one week. kind of like a bug on a windshield...i think. but, this song finally got motivated enough to jump up three spots, making it the leap of the week!
6-/\-5. avril lavigne-my happy ending
avril takes a step in the right direction on her second week on the chart, moving up one from 6 to 5. will avril start a trend for herself and continue moving up, maybe even into countdown heaven and make it all the way to number one? only time will tell...
D----4. alicia keys-if i ain't got you
alicia's first song to make its way onto the chart debuts at number 4! nice job. as i said in the intro, i meant to put this on the countdown last week, and that's partly the reason for why it debuts so high this week. the other part is because it's such a damn good song!
2-\/-3. jojo-leave
it's been six weeks since jojo came back onto the chart at number 5, and now two weeks since she's been at number one. if she gets too one-deprived, she could fall off the countdown! will she bounce back, or could "leave" leave the countdown soon?
1-\/-2. christina milian-dip it low
in her fourth week, christina gets bumped back down to number 2 again...all of a sudden this song became different when i heard it on the radio...seemed a lot simpler. maybe i'm hearing a different version? or maybe thrik was right either way, it falls down a spot. but, will christina be able to recover and take back the number one spot again? nobody knows...

but what we do know is this...that this song is the brand new number one song...and it is...
3-/\-1. mis-teeq-scandalous
"scandalous" becomes number one in it's seventh week on the chart! when it debuted at number seven a few weeks ago...it's seemed to be doomed to fall off the chart. then, it moved up two spots, then one more, then two, and now two more spots again, and it is at number one this week. let me say...this song gets better and better. i still have no clue what any of the words are except "hot stuff, head to toe, where you go, no one knows"...and "so so so so scandalous"...but that's it. either way, i love this song no matter how many words i know.

could mis-teeq be number one next week and in more weeks to come? only one way to find out! check my list next week to find out where all these artists place, and see what the new debuts are..

and cobainfish...i don't care what you think about my taste in music, just like i don't care what thrik thinks about my taste in music, or anybody else for that matter. whatever you like is what you like, so whatever. i don't think you have to say something like (essentially) my music isn't even "music" or say my taste is crappy, everyone has their little flaws, and i'm sure i could find something bad about you that you'd get at me about, but i won't.

for me, one of those little things that pushes my buttons and gets on my nerves and makes me irritated, frustrated, annoyed, aggravated, and agitated is when someone says something bad about my taste in music. it will send me flying off the rocker. so anyway...i'd appreciate it if you didn't call my taste in music "crappy" and instead said something that hinted at disagreeing w/my taste in music instead of blatantly bashing it.

this week on the countdown- well, it's officially week ten of the countdown! whoohoo! plus, we see two debuts this week, including one from beyonce that isn't (and won't be) a single off her album.

sadly, evanescence slips down three spots this week to number ten. at the beginning of their run on the chart, they seemed to have been off to a good start. after popping into the top three in the second week, well, it just was a downihill slide from there. could this be the last of evanesence on the chart forever? *gasp*
D----9. jessica simpson-angels
well, the actual song is extremely slow, that's the one on the music video. but on the radio, they shorten the song by two minutes to make it the average song length, plus they throw in more instruments in the background, which i like.
D----8. beyonce-hip hop star
i've listened to this song a few times and i like it a lot. i like the background music, and everything about it. so we'll see if this song can fare as well as "naughty girl" in weeks to come.
