True, but warez is ILLEGAL. That didn't used to stop me, but I did finally stop. I do still have like 4 or 5 CDs... Of course, I burned those CD-Rs back when we first got our CD Burner, and before I realized how much CDs can hold. Each disk uses less than 25% of the CD. LOL... That's how I played SnM and MI2... LOL. I still don't own either one, but I'll buy them one day...

Anyway I'll say it. Can you explain warez? I'll help you - 1 person/group giving a copied program/movie/game to another person/group. Right? OK, so whats lending? One person/group lending an original program/movie/game to another person/group. The only diffrence is that warez is a copied program/movie/game. B/c a person/group can not lend the program/movie/game to all their friends he/they copy it and put it in the I-net for all to share. So if I lend a DVD to a friend of mine this is a crime, it's illigal? I don't think so!

Yeah, even if it isn't illegal, warez is still wrong. It's like a loop-hole in the law, or stealing from a shop knowing you won't get caught Razz

True steve... true. However, there is an alternative to warez. A legal one. Well, the obvious would be to buy the games/movies/whatever, but that's not what I mean. I mean Abandonware. Abandonware is legal, no matter how you look at it. The law states that after a game, not sure if the law is the same for movies and such, is no longer sold by the company that holds the copyright for 5 years, the copyright is voided, and the program then becomes abandonware. Which is why I'm waiting for the day LucasArts stops selling MI1. 5 years from that date you'll be able to download it from my site. I guarantee that. Smile Just watch, if they do stop selling it, they'll wait 4 years then start selling it again. That would be our luck. I'm done now.

Wow, I never knew that. So, websites that let you download old games are actually legal Surprised (e.g. Home Of The Underdogs)

www.oldgames-fr.com is the best abandonware site for me (or at least, it used to be) It used to have a lot of the games i allways wanted to play, etc. Although, most of the games arent actually abandonware!

You should trust me its so good you can borrow my copy if yo want. going back to the earlier point even if warez snt illegal it puts game manufacturas out of business, they work for ages on a game just to have someone come along and get it for free and so they dont get a thing for there hard work its like cd's but i dont sympathise with them because they way over charge anyway and dont work to hard 9with a few exeptions)

I agree, warez is terrible. If anyone illegally downloads DOTA they will get personal beatings Razz.

(PS, watch this really funny video about copying stuff: http://www.milkandcookies.com/links/8157/ , it may be a bit dated as it is talking about floppies, but it is still hilarious Razz)
