okay, i was too lazy to do this yesterday, so i'm doing it today. and actually, i'm going to do it on monday from now on b/c...i just want to.
this week on the chart-can ciara hang on or will kelly bounce back and reclaim the #1 spot, breaking the record? and how about seether and amy lee? they're not about to give up. plus, one song comes back from the dead. what song is it? find out!
/\=up
>=stayed the same
\/=down
B=back again
8-\/-10. britney spears-my prerogative
after a short three weeks, this being it's fourth, "my prerogative" could be looking to fall off the chart soon. uh-oh.
9->-9. avril lavigne-my happy ending
7-\/-8. eminem-just lose it
6-\/-7. jojo-baby it's you
B----6. nelly f/christina aguilera-tilt ya head back
this song comes back b/c first of all i've seen the music video now, and i like that, and plus, i just like the sound of the song better now.
3-\/-5. seether f/amy lee-broken
they fall down b/c i haven't heard the song in a while.
1-\/-4. ciara-goodies (plunge of the week)
ciara falls out of the top spot-out of the top three, as a matter of fact. this song is somehow getting old quickly....oh my god! it's in number four, and seether is in number five! we know what that means!
5-/\-3. destiny's child-lose my breath
whoohoo! destiny's child finally moves somewhere else, and it's surprisingly up! i just say the world premiere of the video to this song today, and i must say that it is a great video. plus, i like the song, and the group, so everything is all honky-dory for destiny's child this week.
4-/\-2. gwen stefani-what you waiting for
i saw the video for this song today for the first time as well...actually, i saw it three times. i like the video, and the song is even better. plus, now i actually know how to write the title of the song since i saw it at the beginning of the video. anyway...gwen might even take over the top spot next week. oh la la.
2-/\-1. kelly clarkson-breakaway
against all odds, kelly forces her way back into the number one spot, making this her fourth week! kelly is now the holder of the most weeks at number one title, breaking jojo's "leave" and beyonce's "naughty girl" records of three weeks each. great job! but can she ward off the powers of gwen and destiny's child? find out next week.

this week- i'm too lazy to write anything. scroll down and read. and see if kelly clarkson stays at #1, making it 5 weeks.
/\=up
>=stayed the same
\/=down
D=debut
9-\/-10. avril lavigne-my happy ending
7-/\-9. jojo-baby it's you
4-\/-8. ciara-goodies (plunge of the week)
so sad...ciara tumbles a huge four spots this week. this song is not getting a lot of airplay...plus i don't like it as much anymore.
8-/\-7. eminem-just lose it
6->-6. nelly f/christina aguilera-tilt ya head back
5->-5. seether f/amy lee-broken
D----4. avril lavigne-nobody's home
new song by avril (duh). this song is really good, i like it a lot. haven't heard it on the radio yet, but i see the music video constantly, and that's pretty good too.
1-\/-3. kelly clarkson-breakaway
falls out of the top spot. getting older. however, i saw the music video and i must say that it's pretty good. and i watched the whole thing. although the little girl that's supposed to be a young kelly clarkson doesn't really look like her...but no matter.
3-/\-2. destiny's child-lose my breath
wooo, all the way at number two! i must say, the video makes it so much better.
2-/\-1. gwen stefani-what you waiting for
and now...the number one song! gwen stefani! this song rocks. i love it. i've been singing it all day. it deserves to be up here, for sure.

I don't really think he even has a best song. Most of his songs are really good. It's really hard to decide which is best _________________ Moderator, Developer, Free Running newbie |

Yeah, I agree. Out of the main best ones that were big hits, it's hard to compare them. _________________

this week- doing it today, just b/c it's more convenient...anyway, see if gwen sticks around at number one or not. plus, i've put three shiny new songs on.
/\=up
>=stayed the same
\/=down
D=debut
7-\/-10. eminem-just lose it
6-\/-9. nelly f/christina aguilera-tilt ya head back
D----8. nina sky-turnin' me on
like this song a little. maybe it'll grow on me like "move ya body" did.
D----7. ciara f/missy elliott-one, two step
ooh, heard this song last night and it's pretty good. and what a coincidence, too. ciara falls off this week with "goodies", but immediately follows it up w/another song. how nice.
D----6. lindsay lohan-rumors
i'm kind of embarassed to put this on here b/c last week, i thought she had no talent, but since i saw "mean girls" last night (which is a great movie, btw), i realized she's actually a very talented person. although her jugs might be fake....but who cares. this song is pretty good.
3-\/-5. kelly clarkson-breakaway
kelly keeps slipping...falling two spots again this week.
5-/\-4. seether f/amy lee-broken
4-/\-3. avril lavigne-nobody's home
ooh, breaks the top three. a very good song, almost as good as the top two but not quite yet. a very good song though. maybe when it gets more airplay, it'll go higher.
1-\/-2. gwen stefani-what you waiting for
don't think this song is getting any worse, or that i'm liking it any less. if i could, i would tie this for first, but for the purposes of ease, i just can't. this song is still one of the most amazing songs right now (hence, the high rank), but "lose my breath" just got a teensy bit better. this song has not lost a bit of it's gold quality, but destiny's child is platinum (i guess)
2-/\-2. destiny's child-lose my breath
*phew* an extremely close race between gwen and destiny's child, but this week, destiny's child takes the crown...maybe they can break it into little pieces and share it like at the spring fling in "mean girls". anywho, this song is very good (as well as "what you waiting for"), but i like their song just a little bit more...by a hair. this was a close one, but destiny's child takes the cake. however, can they pull it off for another week? who knows? find out next week.

this week- see which one of my three most favorite songs that i've ever heard in my life makes it to number one!
/\=up
>=stayed the same
\/=down
D=debut
10->-10. eminem-just lose it
an interesting phenomenon- eminem manages to stay put at number 10 for two weeks in a row....i don't think that's ever happened before.
7-\/-9. ciara f/missy elliott-one, two step
have not heard this song since it's been on the chart!
5-\/-8. kelly clarkson-breakaway (plunge of the week)
getting older....might fall off soon.
6-\/-7. lindsay lohan-rumors
8-/\-6. n.o.r.e. f/nina sky-oye mi canto
this song was on last week, i didn't know the name of it, so i assumed it was nina sky "turnin' me on", but it's not, and now i know the name of the song, and who actually sings it...so yeah. anyway, it got better, so it moves up.
4-\/-5. seether f/amy lee-broken
love this song so much, but vertigo is better, sadly.
D----4. u2-vertigo
great song. like it a lot. the music video is a little weird/strange/dull, but the song compensates for that.
2-\/-3. gwen stefani-what you waiting for
i hate to do this, but gwen has to move down to make room for avril, whose song got that much better. this song is still amazing, and if i could, i'd put, gwen, avril, and destiny's child all at number one.
3-/\-2. avril lavigne-nobody's home
this song got a little bit better since last week, but still no match for...
1->-1. destiny's child-lose my breath
destiny's child stays at number one! hooray! that makes me happy. okay, read next week to see all the drama...kind of.

this week- three debuts..plus...could there be a new number one in town? find out!
/\=up
>=stayed the same
\/=down
D=debut
5-\/-10. seether f/amy lee-broken (plunge of the week)
dun dun dun. seether...prepare for take-off! taking off the countdown, that is. don't be surprised if seether goes flying off the chart next week...this song got old overnight.
D----9. chingy-balla baby
like this song. heard it a few times, i think it's chart-worthy.
D----8. vanessa carlton-white houses
like this song as well. hearing it much more often now...got her cd for my best friend's b-day last week. so yeah.
6-\/-7. n.o.r.e. f/nina sky-oye mi canto
D----6. destiny's child-soldier
this is going to be destiny's child's second single off their album destiny fulfilled, i believe i heard it on the radio once, and i've heard it on the t.v. for a commerical for their cd....yeah. this seems like it'll be a good song when it comes out, and i already like the sound of it.
4-\/-5. u2-vertigo
3-\/-4. gwen stefani-what you waiting for
is gwen losing her touch? she falls down yet another spot this week to number four, making this her first week outside of the top three in 4 weeks...uh-oh. this song is still good, although i must admit, it is losing it's magical glow a bit. but i still love it.
9-/\-3. ciara f/missy elliott-one, two step (plunge of the week)
well. isn't this a big surprise? seemingly heading for the countdown graveyard, ciara was basically doomed to fall off...but somehow, she pulls off her magical charm and moves back up, into the #3 spot no less...hm...reminds me of a certain song...anyway, it isn't the leap of forever, but sure comes damn close.
2->-2. avril lavigne-nobody's home
poor avril! she may never make it to the top spot if destiny's child keeps warding her off. i fear that this amazing song may not even be able to touch the sacred #1 throne...who knows. we'll see.
1->-1. destiny's child-lose my breath
wheehee! destiny's child pulls it off for a third week in a row...this song is truly amazing, and not only b/c it's a good song, but b/c everybody loves how destiny's child is back! it's so weird saying "destiny's child" again...i saw their performance on oprah the other day...it was great. they did this thing where they were walking on the stage, but they weren't moving, b/c they were walking on treadmills. it was awesome. anyway...let's see if they can do it next week and tie the record for longest time at #1.

this week- two great new songs on the chart, and one is so high up...you wouldn't believe it. lots of movement, and some things that may shock you (oh la la!). get reading!
/\=up
>=stayed the same
\/=down
D=debut
7-\/-10. n.o.r.e. f/nina sky-oye mi canto
9->-9. chingy-balla baby
5-\/-8. u2-vertigo
u2 falls down an amazing 3 notches, not b/c the song got worse, but a whole bunch of other songs are better.
6-\/-7. destiny's child-soldier
haven't heard this song since i put it on, plus the debuts and stuff...you know.
4-\/-6. gwen stefani-what you waiting for
D----5. lenny kravitz-lady
lenny kravitz. new song. it is great. but i like the video even better than the song. the video seems rather bland from the surrounding standpoint, b/c i mean, he's on a white stage w/white walls and some screens, but the choreography is amazing. i love the video, like the song, it comes on the chart.
2-\/-4. avril lavigne-nobody's home
out of the top 3 b/c of a debut this week. plus, ciara's song became better.
3->-3. ciara f/missy elliott-one, two step
D----2. ashanti-only u
well. let me tell you. i've seen the video a couple of times, snippets of it. but i saw the whole thing the other day, and i like the video and love the sound of the song. it gets put this high b/c it deserves it, not like "breakaway", which only got put so high b/c of the whole day after situation.
1->-1. destiny's child-lose my breath
but, despite all the other movement on the chart, "lose my breath" outshined them all, 4 weeks in a row, as a matter of fact. but can they fend off the forces of ashanti and ciara and all the other amazing people on the chart again? find out next week!

this week- i'm too lazy to put names in bold and italics and whatnot, but i'll still do some descriptions. note- i love all top 4 songs, and would've kept them all in the same place, but that would've been boring.
/\=up
>=stayed the same
\/=down
D=debut
D----10. kelly clarkson-since you've been gone
new song. it's ok.
8-\/-9. u2-vertigo
7-\/-8. destiny's child-soldier
6-\/-7. gwen stefani-what you waiting for
D----6. mario-you should let me love you
this guy had a hit, like 2 years ago, and i liked that song, i forgot what it was called, but this new song is pretty good.
5->-5. lenny kravitz-lady
4->-4. avril lavigne-nobody's home
2-\/-3. ashanti-only u
would've stayed at number 2, but firstly, ciara got slightly better, and secondly, that would've been extremely boring to have no movement at all.
3-/\-2. ciara f/missy elliott-one, two step
1->-1. destiny's child-lose my breath
well, destiny's child has broken the countdown record for most weeks at number one. 5 weeks. not to mention, it's 5 weeks in a row. this song is still great and hasn't lost it's magical touch.

this week- one debut, plus, can destiny's child fend off everyone else for yet another week? find out!
/\=up
>=stayed the same
\/=down
D=debut
7-\/-10. gwen stefani-what you waiting for
after a nice long run on the countdown, gwen is looking to fall off next week. not that she wants to...it's all in the contract.
10-/\-9. kelly clarkson-since you've been gone
5-\/-8. lenny kravitz-lady
6-\/-7. mario-let me love you
4-\/-6. avril lavigne-nobody's home
D----5. gavin degraw-i don't want to be
this song has been around for a while, and it finally got pretty good. so, i'm putting it on the countdown.
8-/\-4. destiny's child-soldier (leap of the week)
whoohoo! i don't know what happened, but this song just magically got better. ya.
3->-3. ashanti-only u
1-\/-2. destiny's child-lose my breath
yes, that's right. after 5 weeks of domination, destiny's child finally loses the top spot. this song is still amazing, but i had to put ciara all the way at number one b/c first of all, they were about equal, but ciara beat them out b/c it would've been boring to let them have yet another week at number one. so, yeah.
2-/\-1. ciara f/missy elliott-one, two step
the princess takes over! ciara, the "princess of crunk", as she's being called, beats all odds and knocks destiny's child out of the top spot. this song is just as good as "lose my breath", however, like i said above, i had to put her up here this week
