Well, I've been thinking about this for a while... You see, for a long time I've wanted to make a Monkey Island fan-game, but the problem is, I have no artistic talent. A few years ago I got into a discussion about how the games were connected, and started writing a fan-fic:

http://www.meleepta.us.tf/story.html

Well, it's crap, but, that's my fan-fic on my "under-construction" fan-site. Once I learned that people could make their own adventure games for free using a program like AGS, which at the time I thought was the coolest thing since sliced bread, I've wanted to turn my fan-fic into a fan-game. Well, I have most of the storylines for 5 potential games, the "inbetween" monkey island games (ie. 0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, and 5.0) in my mind, and I could easily turn them into a script for the games, however like I said, I've got NO artistic talent, so, if you want it, the project is yours...

http://meleepta.proboards27.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&num=1077107650&start=15

Well, those two pages are all I've got on the project so far, so if you want it, the project is yours! Mr. Green Smile Very Happy

It's a cool idea. But we are pretty busy with dota now, so don't have much time to do anything else.

PS, how did you find out about J-Sig? I found out about it becuase my host (2wdh.com) asked me to test it for him... Did you find it out from me? or somewhere else? if so, where?

WHA???? WHAAAA???? A cool idea? Wow. Coming from a totally really cool awesome and really cool guy like you I take that to be a huge compliment. Well, I'm no artist, and I'm really lazy, so, that's why I decided to give the project away. Maybe once "we're" done with DOTA, seeing as I am going to be helping(???), you people can make my dream come true. That would be so awesome. To have my "cool idea" made into a game. And I found out about JSig completely by myself. As soon as I saw your signature. Completely by myself. BTW, do you know how often that thing updates the stats, cause my screen resolution is permanently 800X600 due to my parents lack of computer literacy. I just had it changed so I wouldn't have to keep scrolling back and forth, left and right across every page I came to.

Yeah, we might be able to do your game. If you manage to get a background and a character artist (seeing as mine are really really busy with dota work, and it will take a long time to get that done), then I'll help make your game, so you can show it to your friends Smile

And, it only updates itself when you have the client running on your PC.

I love the idea for a Game Tycoon. Lets make it something like Airline Tycoon. You get the month charts of user intersts and you deside what kind of game to send to the marked (RPG, Adventure, Simulation...) and how many copies to make, how much money to spend on advertising, give it a name, call actors for recording voices, get programmers, get artist and so on. Depending on your incomes you dside whether to buy more expensive programmers (=> better AIs) or artist (=> better world atmosphere). If your company reaches a higher level maybe you can go to E3 or some other expo. Its a BRILLIANT idea. Cheers

Yeah. That is a really good idea. I played a game before called "Rock Star Manager" or something like that. And that has the sort of approach we're looking for, but it wasn't very good Wink .

And, because this isn't an adventure game, we will need different staff. I think we should make it 3d, so you watch all the cutscenes and stuff in 3D, and you have all your graphs and charts pasted over a 3D background, becuase that would give it a nice feel.

But, I would have to get a different programmer, becuase i can't do 3D stuff yet Sad

And other stuff that can be included is other games that are in competition with you, carrying out polls, releasing special editions if the game sells well Smile etc.

I think this game could be really good if we do it well.

James, the perfect demensions for this game would be a 2D environment with 3D charecters.

[offtopic]We should realy deside when to meat on IRC (the whole team) b/c these forums are just too slow for corresponding Wink [/offtopic]

I think it would be cool having a 3D background, maybe just looking at an overhead view of your office, or looking out of a window, with a 2D interface that comes up infront where you do all the clicking and stuff.
