Or you could right click on the image, go to "Properties", and it'll show you the height and width in pixels.

Cunningly, I think you shouldn't limit it, just change the ammount of characters possible to 50-150.

Limiting images is silly Cool ...

OK, I just updated the forum rules, and now the limit is 550x200, because GPHemsley had actually put 550 as a width limit in the forum rules already.

You may say "Pfft, 200, that is so tiny - i want more!!!", but for someone on 800x600, that is 1/3 of their screen taken up by your signature.

People still use 800x600? Everything's huge.

A lot of people use computers just for browsing the internet and Word etc. so they don't need a super fast computer...

I'm on 800x600 just out of habit (I'm perfectly capable of going very high, probably around 1600x1200). I don't really see any problem in leaving the signature size at 300 pixels high. My browser viewing space is approximately 780x415 (give or take). That means that people with signatures like Steve take up 90% of the window. This is especially annoying when their posts are short (*cough*three words*cough*).

Basically, what I'm saying is, my signature is fine. (I haven't measured it, so I don't know if it fits the 200 pixel limit.) Cool

EDIT: I just measured my signature, and 200 pixels is more than enough. I guess the rule stands. Laughing
