We could just do an extra hard quiz (like the team placement challenge but harder), and we are allowed to confirm our answers on MSN Messenger then answer as a team. _________________

okay. that sounds good. except, does everybody have some im'ing device of some kind? i guess some people could use the chat here and others could use messengers or irc or something.. okay, that sounds good. i'll make it like a fifty question challenge. and you have two days max to answer or something and then if you don't, you get no points. i'll start throwing some questions together. _________________ puzzle designer. moderator.

okay. well, it's been 2 days now...so indie skater gets 0 points. i'm going to count it as 5 points, though, in the averaging... so here we go. oh yeah, btw- i made a goofup when i collected answers, i was grading w/the wrong answer, so everyone gets 2 more points than what i told you that you got in your private message...except for pete, who gets +3 b/c i graded another one wrong on his thing. okay, so anyway, here are the official results:

yeah, i can do some team totals.
okay. i've got them together now...so here they are. there are 15 logic puzzles, each of which is worth 3 points. playing for some big points here, people. the only problem is that the people at the bottom of each team will still be at the bottom...but at least this'll still give you more points for if you get eliminated. remember- the person w/the most points decides who leaves, who they think won't benefit their team. i'm sure there won't be any animosity btw. people after this, right?
okay, so anyway, here are the puzzles (actually, some are mathematics problems, etc. either way, they're fairly hard):
1.)A man goes to visit his friend 30 miles away. He doesn't mind speeding, so he travels at 60 miles per hour and arrives in half an hour. On the way back, however, he has a little trouble with his car, and it takes him an hour to reach home. What was his average speed for hte round trip?
2.)You are in a country where there are only liars and truthtellers, adn they cannot be told apart by sight. You set out on a dangerous trip, b/c there is a fork in the road that can lead either to a crocodile swamp or to safety. When you reach the fork, the signpost is gone, but there are two men standing there. You know that they will answer only one question between them. What question can you ask either of them that will tell you which road is safe?
3.)A horse salesman went to a horse auction with a certain number of horses. To his first customer, he sold half his horses, plus half a horse. To his second, he sold half of what he had left, plus half a horse. To the last, he sold half of what he had left, plus half a horse. Each of his customers received whole horses, however, not half horses, and he had no horses left. How many horses did he start out with?
4.)0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 = 1
Put the appropriate plus or minus signs between the numbers, in the correct places, so that the sum total will equal 1.
5.)Sally comes to school one day, and for Show and Tell announces to her kindergarten class that today is the birthday of both her father and her grandfather, and what is more, both are exactly the same age. 6.)Punctuate the following sentence (you can use periods) so that it makes sense:

7.)A man is stalking a bear that has attacked this camp. He reports later that the bear naturally went south. What color is the bear?
8.)A man wants to grow a tree very quickly. He buys some special tree seeds that double in height every day. On the tenth day, the tree is twenty feet high. On what day was it five feet high?
9.)A snail is climbing out of a well. The well is twenty feet deep. Every day the snail climbs up three feet and every night he slips back two feet. How many days will it take him to get out of the well?
10.)You are driving alone on a dark night, and pass through Dogpatch (you can see its name on the City Hall). About half an hour later, you reach a five-way crossroads, but the sign has been uprooted and is lying in such a position you cannot tell exactly how it stood. How do you find out which of the roads leads to Crosspatch, your destination? (You can't create a passerby to ask, or look at a road map).
11.) Does Canada have a 4th of July?
12.) Robert and Rose went shopping for presents together. They had a total of $264 between them. Rose had $24 more to begin with but she spent twice as much as Robert and ended up with two-thirds as much money as Robert. How much did she spend?
13.) If a jet has a value of 1, and a plane has a value of 2, what is the value of a Concorde?
14.) A man just finished painting his house and needs someting more. At the hardware store the clerk shows him what he wants and says "one is $1." "Fine," says the man, "I took 600, so here's $3." What had he bought?
15.) X is less than Y; Y is not equal to Z. Therefore the statement that: X is not equal to Z, is:
a)correct|b)incorrect|c)undetermined
