|
|
well, i just decided i think i want to do a battle of the sexes again. unfortunately, we don't have too many girls, here...so we'll just call this...battle of the teams. i guess. whatever.
now i know where i can get little challenges and stuff. they'll all have to be mental challenges, but i don't think anybody has a problem with that. i don't know if anybody that said they wanted to play in the battle of the sexes 2 still wants to, so just post here if you want to sign up. this time i won't forget this topic and drop it like a hot potato or anything. i'd like to get a lot of people on each team.
i'm also not sure if anyone remembers how this works, so i'll just go over stuff again.
there are two teams, and you kind of work together in a way.
we start with a "preliminary" challenge, to determine your scoreboard points for the first round. because we want to get people having different point amounts, here, that's how you win the game. this game is sort of like a group/individual game all at the same time. everybody gives individual answers to the challenges, and the person that gets the highest score wins points for their team. so i'll set up an example, here.
team 1:
a
b
c
team 2:
d
e
f
so let's say these were the scores that everyone got during the challenge:
a-24
b-32
c-20
d-16
e-34
f-27
so e gets the highest point amount, which means that everyone on his team gets points. the winner gets 1.5 x points earned in a challenge, so e would get 51 points for the challenge. the winner's teammates get 1 x points earned, so d would get 16 and f would get 27. the losing teams gets half the points they earned in the challenge. therefore a gets 12, b gets 16, and c gets 10.
understand?
the person on each team that has the lowest point amount is eliminated after the round of challenges. there will be 1-2 challenges per round. actually, let's make it interesting. the bottom two are nominated to be eliminated, and everybody not in the bottom two vote for who they think should leave. now, you're probably thinking "well, why do i care who leaves, it's an individual game. they have no affect on me", right? WRONG. the teams points are averaged, and whichever team had the higher average gets an additional 10 points for each person on their team. thus, you want to pick off the weakest player as well as bank your own points throughout the game.
when someone is eliminated from the game, they receive half the points they earned throughout the game as a prize for competing. TO JAMES- maybe you could just kind of synthesize these points and give them to the people once they're eliminated? this game could be a fun way to earn some points.
once it's down to the final two (two people on each team, that is), the groups will join together, to create a group of four people. in the final four, there is no voting on who gets eliminated- the person with the lowest score will be eliminated no matter what. the person that is the last one standing wins all the points they earned throughout the game, no halving of points nor doubling of points or anything.
i know this seems complicated with all these instructions, etc. but it'll be so much easier when we actually play, because i'll give step-by-step instructions throughout the way.
so if you want to play, post here that you'd like to. _________________ puzzle designer. moderator.

okay? and then when we go to pick teams...we can either have me do it randomly, or i can invent a fun little way to divide you into teams, or you guys can just assemble yourselves into teams. _________________ puzzle designer. moderator.

Give us a test, and then the put the people alternately from their score.
I.e. If we took a test through pms, and the results were (in order):
90
82
63
55
54
40
Then team one would have:
90
63
40 (they get the worst person instead of the second worst)
Team 2 would have:
82
55
54
That would be even...
If you understood that _________________

okay, i can do that. does anybody know if gphemsley might want to play? or somebody else. i'll give the quiz once we get one more person.
oh yeah. for those of you that didn't play before, most of these games are basically established on the trust that you won't cheat and look elsewhere. like actually give the answers that you think they are. like if i asked a fact about a celebrity or something, don't look it up online, but actually try to make a guess instead. because otherwise it just ruins the whole game. _________________ puzzle designer. moderator.

I e-mailed GPHemsley.
And yes, no one look up the answers. That just ruins the fun. _________________
