Google ads

Why are there google ads on the main-page? I thought you only had un-annoying text-ads? Were these ads here before or did you just add them? If so it's pretty odd i never noticed them.

I just added them now. I chose to add them, because they actually make me money, and I need some for the upkeep of the site, and for funding DOTA. I mean, I could never release a public demo at the moment, becuase my badnwith isn't high enough, but if i raise some money from these google ads, I could upgrade my bandwith .

I was trying to get a good place to put them, where they will be seen by guests, but not too annoying. I tried getting them in the side menu, but they were too fat, so this (above the site) was the only reasonable place I could find. If you really hate them, please say so. And also say if you have a better idea of where to put them.

Right now they are 'public service' ads, which don't make me any money. This is because google bots haven't crawled my site yet to work out which ads would fit. But once they do, i get some money (hopefully )

But, I don't think I am meant to be talking about this, and the google rules are really strict about what you can do, and I don't think we are meant to talk about them, because it counts as publicising them. I'll move this thread to the mod only bit soon.

wow. that's a little irritating...although i rarely look at the main site. you should put the ad at the bottom instead, where nobody looks

Maybe when I have enough to pay for the domain for another year, i'll move them to the bottom
