|
i know i ask this, like, every 5 weeks, but i guess i'm a little too excited about there being a demo sometime...
...anyway, the only reason i'm posting this is b/c i was reading through some threads, and there was one (i think it's called "so....", it should be a few threads beneath this one) where you said you (james) were working on the demo and you had to debug some of the puzzles or something? and you said it was a pre-alpha....i was just wondering if there's been good progress, if it's almost done or something...
i feel like i'm being really pushy and that i need to back off a bit...but i'm not trying to be pushy, really. sorry if i'm bothering you...if you want me to stop asking, please say so, b/c i get the feeling you do, but you're not telling me...i know i'd be irritated, but i wouldn't say anything.
anyway...sorry for asking, if i'm being annoying...i just wanted to know. then again, i always want to know....but wadeva. _________________ puzzle designer. moderator.

Well, the art is kind of flaky, and that is necessary for the demo.
Mark is working well, he's got the bedroom and the lounge done, but we still need a lot more rooms.
And with the character art, I don't even know who the character artist is .
But all the other progress is going well. But everything has to be done before a demo can be released. _________________

Inkoddi.. well, we keep asking him, but whenever we ask him if he's gonna do it he says "Meh, too busy. Might do it soon" or something . He hasn't done anything in afew months, so Mark's doing it now.
And, we hadn't spoken to Okii for weeks, but he just came back saying his PC had crashed, but he's willing to start again. That was about a week ago, and I haven't seen him again since. We do have someone else called Michael who wants to do character art aswell.
It's all very confusing. _________________

those damn artists!
we need to find someone who can just dish out art quickly and efficiently, and won't have something come up.
i'll bet you that both mark and michael will not be in contact with anyone here within the next month and a half. and then we'll need to find someone else, and 80% of the art will need to be redone again.
*bing!* i have an idea! since we have to keep getting new artists and all this, why don't we just have all the screens look different and weird, and have billy match what the surroundings look like or something...that would make the game, uh...unique. *cough* *looks nervously from side to side* *runs away* _________________ puzzle designer. moderator.

Mark is on MSN loads, so you don't need to worry about him , and I think Michael comes on a bit, but i can't remember.
The different scenes idea could be ok if we did a different artist for each part, so the desert is different style from the house etc. Like that idea? _________________

The News:
1) Okii spoke to me again a few days ago, saying that he had done the work... now i'm just waiting for a chance where he can send it to me.
2) We may be changing background artist again, because we found someone who has plenty of time, and drew this:
Well, actually, someone else did the line art, and he coloured it in, but he will be doing the line art, and has been on art courses, so should know what he is doing .
And, if anyone wants to know what we're going to do with the un used art, well, I'll probably put it in a deleted scenes thing with bonus content. Maybe I'll release a collector's edition with a bonus CD full of bonus things, and then other stuff like posters, tshirts etc. _________________

Hey, that would be great. The language used to programme DOTA has been simplified for adventure games, so if you learn some of that you should be able to learn how to help with DOTA too _________________

My name's Michael... But I don't think that I'm Michael... Or am I? Exactly! Well, I've already said that I'm no good with "drawing" but I do a decent job with editing. I think. I haven't done any high-res work. And C++??? Awesome! I checked out a book on it, but my compiler I downloaded won't compile correctly any more... _________________ Signature:
