I think we should have our own clan server running constantly that anyone can join but we can get them to leave and organise clan batles and practises for DOTA it would also raise our profile as a clan as well as helping us to get better.

If everyone sent me their share in the money then it would work, but i doubt that would happen Wink.

There's nothing really special about having our own server. Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper for you to just open the right ports so you can host Wink. There are so many servers we can just choose any to join when we want to go public, and for private Michaelz can host.

If we do buy a server a 12 player public would be good enough so it probably wont cost as much rite?

Oh and also you can't switch it between public and private I don't think, so we can't sometimes have it public and sometimes have it just for DOTA people. The only way I can think of would be for me to have to kick anyone who joined who wasn't DOTA when we wanted to play just the clan Wink

I just said I don't think you can change a public server to password protected.

*Waits for someone to prove me wrong*

All we need is a public one. As you just set a password which is allowed on public. Voila [DOTA] only, and 12 man servers ive seen for as low as 20-25 with a vent server or hltv. I know you can put a password on public as i was talking to a guy from a hosting company on mirc about servers for my serious clan. Tbh though there aint much point in getting one unless your anting to use it alot like for pcw's etc i meen it is a fair bit to spend for a **** about once every week.

It's true Razz. What's wrong with joining good public servers or getting Michael to host? (or getting Steve's fast internet hosting working Wink)

well i play on the AX clan server alot and when they have clan ratices or battles the console just says thanks for supporting the server but aclan practise is about to happen so could u leave and every1 disconnects so they dont have to kick, and $43 isnt so bad thats about £27 Razz michealz!, which if every1 who properly in the clan chipped in would only come to about £3 a person and some of us could give it to u at school.
