I smashed my shins the other day and they're still really swollen. I used ice packs for a couple of hours the day it happened, but what can I do now to help it? _________________

Ah, putting ice on an injury after it has just happened to reduce the swelling is a good idea. After that, you should give it some heat. Heat can releive pain and speed up the healing process especially from arthritis and back pain. Also an oxygen tent if you have one would help because the higher concentration of oxygen in the blood should speed up cell respiration and division to replace anre restore damaged cells.

Haha, well the swelling actually isn't that bad anymore, but there's a load of skin scraped off on the front. I wish i was wearing shin pads _________________

In other news, I am now crippled, I banged my knee really badly and badly bruised the back of my hips when I did a roll onto a rock and a manhole, the knee swolle (sp?) up, I applied ice and the swellings gone now. I also had my strained tendon looked at, and I've been told to rest it, apply heat, and massage gently to aid recovery. So I can't do parkour for at least a week or so _________________

I rolled onto that manhole cover too didn't hurt that much lol . I'm just kidding btw, I know it can hurt if you roll on it hard with your hip.
I think my shins getting better but I try not to do big drops and tricks which slam my legs like front handsprings and flips (although people keep trying to persuade me to ). How's your ankle btw? _________________

This isn't from parkour but from skating but I can't move my right shoulder without it hurting. If it's in a certain position, I can hold it and it doesn't hurt but when I move it into a different position it hurts like hell! When it's in that position for a second or so it doesn't hurt anymore. Should I put ice on it or a heat pack? or got any other hints or tips which might speed up the healing process? _________________ Moderator, Developer, Free Running newbie |

No you can't see anything on the outside but it really hurts. I hope it'll be better tomorrow. If not, I'll go to the doctor's :p _________________ Moderator, Developer, Free Running newbie |

Break the other shoulder and you'll have a matching pair. You can be like a gorilla. _________________ Face plant |

Make sure that the shoulder/arm is in the right position, hold it there and keep it still or bandage it to keep it still then give it a few days without putting any strain on it then start gently stretching it.
My ankle is healing quite quickly now, I'm resting it and I'm not playing football on it.
btw patrick, how is your face healing up? That was a pretty nasty scrape you got on your forehead. _________________
