Has anyone seen the French movie 'District 13' (original title: 'Banlieu 13')?
Me and James were able to see it (as well as Duncan who doesn't post here) and it is a movie mainly based around parkour and free-running, with the two lead roles played by David Belle and some other cool free-running expert.
If you have, post your opinions!
It had so many great chase/stunt scenes that were out of this world! The plot was alright, but it needed better continuity. _________________ Face plant |

Yeah I thought it was great! There was so much action throughout the whole movie. I'm slightly confused as to why they showed the french version, but after seeing a clip from the english dubbed version I'm happy I saw the original french version _________________

I don't think it's showing in cinemas anymore so when I have it on DVD you can come round and watch it some time Theo.
Here are some cool facts about the movie (but I don't recommend reading them if you haven't seen the movie - so Steve and Theo don't look ):
Highlight to Read wrote: | The whole movie took 10 months for production (idea, script, casting, filming, etc). January 2004 - October 2004
There weren't any special effects (wirework, computer graphics...) used in 90% of the parkour scenes.

It's hilarious in Far Eastern movies when the films are dubbed and the mouths are so out of line with the speech!
So funny!!!
But, yes, what a movie. The French rap was annoying, though. _________________ Face plant |

Check out this clip from the dubbed version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbbeUjpNjIQ - definetily not as good as the original French version with subtitles.
There's also a Wikipedia article about the movie here. I added quite a lot of stuff to it already, but if there's anything else you can think to add you should! (You don't need to sign up or anything to edit pages on wikipedia) _________________

Yeah, it is a really good film, I really loved it, my favourite part was probably David Belle's huge jump between the two buildings when he is being chased! _________________

Woah, it's so obvious in the last jump that the woman is supported by wires, she doesn't even jump up, she's pulled up in the air like a foot before the edge of the building
The commercial is pretty cool _________________ Moderator, Developer, Free Running newbie |
