okay, we're going to play "the mole" here...

here's how the game works. there is a team of people working together to win a game and in turn put money (or in this case, points)into a "pot". a total of (in this particular game) 250 points can be earned. however, there is a double agent called "the mole". this person is trying to stop points from being put into the pot, but they want to do it without revealing their identity. the mole will be paid in the end depending on how much money they prevented from going into the pot. at the end of each round, players take a 10 question-long quiz as to the identity of the mole. the questions on this quiz deal with things that happened during the game played during the round. the person with the least answers right will be executed. in the case of a tie, the player with the longest time will be executed. however, since we have no way of telling how long it took you to do the quiz, then in the case of a tie, three-five tiebreaker questions will be asked. you will be put on the honor system to not use any notes nor to reference to the game while you are taking the quiz. it is important you don't do this to make sure that everyone is being treated fairly.

once there are three players left (one being the mole, the other two not being the mole), all players will take a twenty question quiz consisting of questions dealing from any time during the enitre game, therefore you are advised to take notes, although you may not use them during the final quiz. do not worry, the mole can never be eliminated. the person who answers the most questions correctly on the final quiz will win however much money is in the pot after playing the final game.

at the beginning of each new round, the mole must leave a poem giving a hint as to their identity. remember, mole, you don't want to give it away.

once i have enough people registered and/or more than six people, i will pm you (if you've registered) to tell you if you have been selected as a player or if you have been selected to be the mole. so when i have six people, i will come back here and post again to tell you. i will then take extra applications from people for three days after i get the correct amount of people.

okay. i could just go into more detail in here, just so that if any other people don't understand something as well, then they can read it here.

okay, i'll do it simple, and then i'll go into a little more detail in some spots. i'll even color code it and everything:

characters

the mole-this player needs to prevent money from going into the grand total by sabotaging games played by the players. they must not reveal their identity, however.

player-any of the various people playing games to win money for the pot. they may sabotage games if they wish, however, to throw off other players from figuring out who the mole is.

the pot

the pot is where money is put when it is earned in games played by players and the mole. money may also be taken out of the pot as well in some games that are played. 250 is the largest amount of points that can be in the pot at one time. however many points out of 250 were not earned by players are given to the mole. so if the grand prize is 170 points, the mole would get 80 points.

quizzes

the day after a game is played, all the players take a 10 question-long quiz. this quiz always has to two questions that remain the same on every quiz: the first question will always ask if the mole is male or female, and the last question will always ask who the mole is. this leaves 8 questions. these questions ask about things the mole did during the game that the players played. an example would be "during the game, what job did the mole have? cook, pilot, or diver?" or something like that. the player who answers the least amount of questions correctly will be "executed" and eliminated from the game.

breaking a tied score on the quiz

to break a tied score on the quiz, each player has to answer the three tiebreaker questions for a quiz. these questions will not be counted for part of your quiz score, but they will simply be used to vreak a tie. if there is still a tie after the first tiebreaker round, past scores will be taken into account. all the previous scores that you have had on quizzes will be averaged and whoever has the lower average will be executed. in the case of yet another tie, execution will be skipped and the game will continue normally, but it will be extended due to the fact nobody was executed that round. note: you will not know at any time during the game how many questions you answered correctly on any quiz, you will not be given any information on who scored where on a quiz, including any tiebreaker information. the only quiz-related information given to anyone at any time is who is executed from the game.

exemptions

an exemption makes you immune to being executed after a quiz is taken. the exemption winner must still take the quiz, however, but they cannot be executed even if score in last place on the quiz.

the final quiz

the final quiz is made up of twenty questions, versus the normal ten questions. these questions may be taken from any game at any time during the entire game of "the mole", from the first game to the most recent game. there are three players that take the final quiz, two of them being regular players, and one of them being the mole. in the case of a tie on this quiz, all scores will be averaged, yada yada yada. if there's another tie, both players win and and split the pot evenly.

okay, here's what we'll do. we can do this one of two ways:

1. if you have questions about anything in particular, ask me here and we'll get all questions answered and start playing.

2. the first game will be a practice one and then i'll give step by step instructions as we go through and then everybody can learn how to play and what to do, and then we'll just play that one for fun, and we'll start a new one and that'll be the actual game for points and stuff.

well, the so-called team is just everybody playing the game, including the mole. to earn points, you have to try and win games, the games we play require teamwork to win. however, the mole is trying to sabotage the group's efforts to win the games and prevent money from going into the pot without it becoming obvious who they are.

basically, everybody all plays a game together to win points, but one person is trying to stop the group from winning money, and that person (the mole) is playing the game as well. so if it required communication on everybody's part and someone tells the mole something, they may twist it around and pass it on to somebody else to try and sabotage the games.

i'm not sure whether or not everybody understands, but we'll do a "practice game". and there's also an aspect of the game that is purely bluffing. just in case not everybody knows what bluffing is, it is where you would pretend to be the mole to throw everyone else off track. or, if you are the mole, you could use 'reverse psychology', so to speak, and act extremely molish to make it seem as though you're just a player who's trying to bluff way too hard, when in reality, you're the mole! and that's actually happened on the show.

anyway...i'll probably give step-by-step instructions along the way and help the mole figure out how to sabotage everything. i think the only two people who've given me their info so far are gphemsley and i think james did, too. i'm not sure about anyone else...
