New update:

In advance of the Counter-Strike: Source update we've mentioned here recently, we'll be releasing an update for Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. This update will include two new weapons (the StunStick and the Slam) as well as a return of the trusty crowbar. We've decided to also include a new map called "Steam Lab."

Here are a few images:



Right around the same time, we'll be releasing the source code to Half-Life 2: Deathmatch in the SDK.

This release will happen some time next week. Right now, we're shooting for Thursday the 17th.

And just a quick note for those of you who have been asking -- yes, VAC 2 is coming.

VAC 2 is the anti-cheat thing that disables the Steam accounts of people cought cheating.

Yeah it's annoying. I was playing in a server the other day and this guy had an aimbot. I went up behind him and he got headshots on me with his back turned. He just got everyone with headshots. I watched him in spec and his crosshair switched between the heads of the other team even if they were behind walls.

Then i checked myg0t and they've released a no recoil and aimbot mod on their site Evil or Very Mad

I don't cheat.

EXCEPT, this one time me, D07 and mattbt joined this assault_2005 server, and they had sv_cheats set to 1 and everyone had noclip on and was flying round the level. It was stupid Razz

But that isn't really cheating becuase when the server turns sv_cheats on, they are allowing people to cheat on purpose. And I didn't have an advantage over anyone else becuase they were all noclipping too Razz
