We have been planning for a long time to upgrade the forums to the next version of phpBB when it comes out. The new version is 3.00 (codenamed Olympius), and has loads of new features, and is much neater. It is still in production, with WIP version being released daily, but the final beta should be coming very soon.
We already have a test forum of the next version here.
Once the new version is out, I'll upgrade the forums to it ASAP. But, there are a lot of mods on this forum, such as the points mod, lottery mod etc. These will all be lost. People's posts and private messages and everything should stay, but not the mods such as the points.
So I need to know what everyone thinks about this _________________

Or...you could use Invision Version 2.0 (which is awsome).
I think the points going is ok, but can you give people who want it coloured names? That's all I want
Anywho, go for it. What cool stuff will it bring, apart from a different version number? If this forum is working fine, why swap? _________________ aiii |

You can see for yourself .
Some of the best features are:
- Attachments
- Much easier styling, theming and templating
- Sub-forums
- User control panel with friends, topic watching, profile managing all in one place
- Nicer look (they have a secret theme they're going to release when 3.00 is complete
- Better layout
- A more controllable admin panel
- Better permissions, with more control over usergroups etc.
- Easier module adding
- A colour pallete for font colour and easier polls in posts
- You can have redirection things in the forum list (e.g. the link to the DOTA forums here)
- More secure and faster
- Birthdays

You do realise that Invision did all of those things, and more, 2 versions ago. They are now on Version 2 (and that all appeared in 1.2). You might as well try it _________________ aiii |

phpBB did them too in MODs, but i just prefer phpBB. I know how the coding works, and I know how to code my own MODs for it, so it's a lot easier . And also, I heard that because IPB now costs money lots of people have stopped making mods and skins for it, and the main modding sites have closed down. phpBB will always be free _________________

It looks kinda weird. I don't like it too much.
But maybe it'll grow on me or whatever. We'll see _________________ puzzle designer. moderator.

Because I'm not going to be adding any mods to it I'll add multiple templates to choose from. So if it's the style you don't like, don't worry, it can all be changed with a new template. _________________

I know ^_^. It cache's it, so when I go offline, it still keeps the setting from the last song I was listening to. I like it like that, and it also works for PSMs (UUX; Personal Message thing in MSN Mess. 7). _________________ aiii |
